How our Social Enterprise is Structured:
The Humanitarian Changemakers Network (HCN) uses a hybrid social enterprise mode.
HCN operates under Changemaker Collective PTY LTD, a private company that engages in trade to generate profits, primarily through our ‘platforms’ – School of Social Impact (education), Changing Times News (media), and Theory of Change AU (consulting). Our platforms directly support those working to create change at the grassroots level, with 50% of all profits from our platforms redistributed to fund the Humanitarian Changemakers Network.
HCN is a decentralised network of collectives (known as Impact Initiatives) that are communities of practice, bringing changemakers together under a common goal or interest. These collectives are autonomous, with complete financial transparency via Open Collective, and only use funds to cover impact work. Collectives are funded by the social enterprise, as well as through direct contributions. Any direct contributions made to a collective or the network will only be used to fund impact projects, not any operational costs which are solely covered by Changemaker Collective.
